The idea was to have a modern day execution of the Snow White fairy tale. We wanted to elaborate on the adage, ‘Mirror Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?’ and integrate it within the context of 21st century living. The insecurity and bias that guided the queen in the Snow White story to ask the mirror questions of her beauty would be even more accentuated in modern life. A constant stream of information and social media often have us feeling overwhelmed and perplex, adding complexity to our everyday lives. We wanted to translate this complexity into a project that represents the very voices and people that are affected by modern living. Keeping in mind the 7 dwarfs Of the story, we asked 7 impertinent questions that we think define living In the digital age. We accumulated data from a diverse range of individuals and creatives from the 20-30 acre group, that Span across cultures and professional backgrounds. These 7 questions were housed within a structure of a 90’s or early 2000’s web 1 type website so that we language of the page was unique and distinctive. We thought that it would be ironic to have a web structure that questions tech and social media from a time period where the impact of social media and technology was minimal on our lives. The result was a wall of faces almost talking simultaneously, representing the chaos and confusion that is characteristic of life in the digital age. The 7 questions:

Do you feel overwhelmed and anxious by the constant stream of information or you feel informed? If so, how do you balance it?

What has been your reaction meeting people online, and then in real life? Have you ever been surprised? Do you think you can gauge who a person is via virtual interactions?

What is the strangest thing that has happened to you on the internet?

Does social media and the constant stream of information make you a better creator or hampers your process. What is the role of social media for an artist?

Have you ever been concerned about safety/privacy while using a specific technology? If so, why?

What is the one thing about social media that you appreciate despite all the clutter?

Do you feel like technology takes away from actual human experiences or adds to them?
